STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES
Cockscomb
is not a long-term destination and we encourage visitors not to stay more
than 5 days.
We ask our visitors to make a minimum of $5 donation for each
nights stay. These funds go toward replacing drinking water,
cooking gas, mosquito coils, consumables like hand towels, toilet rolls,
paper plates and fuel for the generator
Cockscomb does not have the facilities that are provided by
a caravan park
Manoeuvring large vehicles & vans can be difficult
Pets are allowed, but must be controlled by their owners and please use
a "pooperscooper"
Remember
to bring your own food, ice & medication
Please
consider that "No one is the Boss" and "No booze in Glass
Bottles"
Water - Cockscomb water supply is
limited to catchment from local rain. Although there are three 15,00 litre
tanks, water is a precious commodity and we ask users to ensure all taps
are turned off after use.

Dai Loi House - 4 beds, mosquito screened (not proof),
veranda front & back, 12volt solar lighting, one car parking
Andawakey House
- 4 beds, one car shelter, front verandah, 12volt solar lighting
Cooking
- The kitchen is available 24 hours a day with a wood BBQ, Gas
stove The kitchen is covered, has a prep table, sink, hot water when the
fire is going, minimal 12V Solar battery powered night lighting
There is also a battery powered rotisserie and a open fire BBQ
Laundry
- Very limited laundry facilities, you should talk to the caretakers
Showers
- Two hot/cold showers with a RAYKEN Chuffa, which you should light before
soaping up
Toilets
- Two flushing septic toilets, mixed use and one Men's pissaphone near
the bar
Pergola

Parking
- Generally the rule for parking is always leave it free for someone
else to get out
Access
- Via Camms Road Cawarral, a 24 hour 2 wheel drive unsealed road
Rubbish
- All paper, cardboard and acceptable material to burn should be placed
in the incinerator
Plastic plates, plastic wrappers, any glass, plastic utensils and food
scraps should be placed in bins provided.
Aluminium cans should be crushed and placed in the drum near the crusher
